Managers and DLCs may only approve flexible work arrangements for an employee after carefully considering its possible operational effects, including equity among similarly situated staff; impact on culture of the DLC or on ensuring services remain accessible to colleagues and customers; any additional burdens on co-workers or managers; increased costs or safety concerns; as well as any additional safety or health considerations. If, in the opinion of DLC leadership, an approved flexible work arrangement fails to fully meet operational needs, changes will be implemented with reasonable notice given whenever feasible.
