“We believe the decision to block the anti-constitutional and we will continue to defend the right to privacy of correspondence of Russians”, — wrote Durov on his page “Vkontakte”.

He said that he expects the imminent Exodus of users from U.S.-controlled messengers that, according to Durova, hardly will strengthen national security, for which show care to the FSB.

“Russia’s national security will decrease, as part of the personal data of Russians will go from neutral to RF sites in USA controlled from WhatsApp/Facebook,” wrote Durov.

Also, he believes that the current measure does not help in the fight against terrorism, because extremists can continue to use Telegram with services bypass the lock and go to other channels of communication.

Finally, the actor writes, “the quality of life of the 15 million Russians will teach Telegram without VPN may be occasionally unavailable.”

On Monday, Roskomnadzor began enforcement of the judgment about blocking messenger, who refused to provide security services non-existent, according to the developers, the keys to the correspondence of users. The Supervisory authority pointed out to the service providers on the need to block access to Telegram.

The Kremlin, meanwhile, said that the Telegram lock is “not a game of hide and seek and catch-up” and actions pursuant to the court decision. According to the press-Secretary of President Dmitry Peskov, it is too early to assess the effectiveness of Roskomnadzor in the direction of how actions taken have not yet resulted in a reduction in the number of users of the messenger and stop its operation.

Previously conducted “MK” Telegram channel, the survey showed the following results: 43% of users use proxies to bypass the lock, 14% – VPN. Another third said that will decide on measures after problems arise with access to a Telegram, or ask for advice from the pros. While 9% of survey participants said that they are ready to move on to other messengers.
