The CSTO countries will strengthen missile defense

In the joint staff of the collective security Treaty (CSTO) held consultations of defence Ministers of the member States of the CSTO establishment of the Single (United) system of air and missile defense. The meeting was held under the supervision of the chief of the CSTO joint staff Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov.

“The military-political situation in the world once again demonstrates the importance and vital necessity of quality decisions of the organization and missile defense to ensure national and collective security”, – said Anatoly Sidorov.

He recalled that created a Single (unified) regional air defense system in the Eastern European and the Caucasus region of collective security. In the Central Asian region the work is conducted mainly on a bilateral basis. Signed and ratified the Agreement between Russia and Kazakhstan. Work is underway to conclude similar agreements with Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

Participants in the consultations reaffirmed the importance of development of integration processes in this area to ensure the air defense of the territories of the member States of the CSTO, as well as created on a coalition basis military forces.
