Director of the Ukrainian National Institute for strategic studies Volodymyr Horbulin admitted that he was “frankly offended” by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who in a speech to the Federal Assembly “scared the world with fairy tales” about the new heavy Russian missile complex “Sarmat”. In his opinion, to compare “Sarmat” developed in the Ukraine in Soviet times, the missile “Voevoda” (“Satan” – according to NATO classification), at least not correctly.

Gorbulin predicts that the newest Intercontinental ballistic missile “Sarmat” will not soon arrive at the Arsenal of the Russian military, according to news Agency “military-industrial courier”.
In his opinion, today “Sarmat” is only mashability layout, held at the end of the 2017 stage of the throwing test. Thus the missile will be adopted only after four or five years. “Russian developers need, including to conduct flight tests of new missiles and to test a missile,” said said.
Director of the Institute recalled that the USSR was made of 308 missiles “Voivod” with the established warranty period of combat duty for 15 years. Now in Russia is 42 such missiles, their service is a Russian “Center Makeyev”, he said.
Gorbulin doubted that in the nearest future Russia will be able to get rid of the “Governor”, as, according to the Pentagon and the missile defense Agency of the United States, “a better missile systems in the world”.
The newest heavy rocket “Sarmat” are planned to be put into service in 2019-2020, it will replace developed and serially produced in the USSR complex “Voevoda”. Deputy defense Minister Yuri Borisov said that the disposal of obsolete complexes will begin soon.
“Sarmat”, carrying a payload of ten tons, it has a range of about 16 thousand kilometers. The rocket is able to reach the enemy on a ballistic trajectory passing through the South pole and also move under the radar.
