Ex-intelligence officer responded to a post of the President of the United States Donald trump about personnel shifts in the state Department and the CIA. Recall, Haspel was appointed as the new head of the intelligence Department, and her former boss Mike Pompeo took the place of the Secretary.

Snowden wrote on Twitter that the name Gina was Haspel “specified in a top-secret decree that all records of torture must be destroyed to not get in Congress.”

“The new Director of the CIA played a key role in using torture against suspects in their unlawful concealment,” said Snowden, posting a link to an article in The New York Times.

The new CIA director was a key part of the torture program and its illegal cover-up. Her name was on the Top Secret order demanding the destruction of tapes to prevent them being seen by Congress. Incredible. https://t.co/HjVHCPCbpo https://t.co/VamIGa1A8w

In the text of the NYT it is reported that in 2002 Haspel watched the torture of two terrorism suspects, and participated in the destruction of the tapes, confirming the brutal interrogations at a secret prison in Thailand.

In addition, in 2017 the European centre for constitutional rights and human rights has asked Berlin to issue a warrant for the arrest Haspel in the case of the torture of terrorism suspects. In this regard, Snowden also suggested that the new head of the secret services will not be able to visit the EU without the risk of being arrested.
