Deputy Minister of defense for political Affairs John Rood spoke to members of the armed services Committee of the lower house of Congress. Deputy head of the Pentagon commented on the statements of Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russia has developed new types of weapons that have no analogues in the world. According to Ruda, the words of the Russian leader was no surprise, but American commanders did not like the flow of this information.
“We know about the development of Russian arms and with concern some changes in Russian military doctrine and the program of military exercises, but we are disappointed that the Russian President decided to present them exactly as he presented them”, — quotes RIA Novosti words of the Deputy chief of the us military.
The representative of the Department convinced Congress that Moscow is “not fulfilling its obligations under the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate-range and shorter-range” and other agreements.
“The United States remains committed to fulfilling its obligations under the new start Treaty and is ready to discuss the Treaty with their Russian counterparts,” said Ore.
Also during the speech to Congress, the Deputy head of the Pentagon made a prediction about how it will increase the threat from Russia and China. Ore expressed the opinion that Moscow and Beijing are going to “reshape the world order and to change the territorial boundaries”. Based on this, the representative of the Ministry of defence said the legislators on the need to increase military spending. This money should be added not only to the us military, but also allies, said Ores.
“Therefore, they represent a growing threat to US security and its allies and partners. Long-term rivalry with China and Russia requires an increase in military spending as the United States and its allies, because the magnitude of these threats in the future will only increase,” – said the Deputy head of the Pentagon.
