Putin discussed with Macron and Merkel the situation in Eastern ghouta

The press service of the Kremlin said Sunday that Russia’s President Vladimir Putin discussed by telephone with the President of France Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel the situation in the Syrian Eastern ghouta.

The leaders expressed satisfaction at the adoption of UN security Council resolution on the settlement in Syria, which involves a cease-fire.

The Russian leader told the gathering about the steps taken by Russia for the evacuation of civilians and delivery of humanitarian aid and providing medical care to the population.

Meanwhile, Putin stressed in conversation that the statement in the UN security Council resolution to suspend military action is not concerned with operations against terrorist groups.

The parties also agreed to intensify the exchange of information on Syria through various channels.
