Russian human rights activist, member of the political party “Yabloko”Sergey Kovalev delivered an open letter to the candidate in presidents of the Russian Federation Ksenia Sobchak. In it, he calls his consent to be a Trustee “a grave mistake” and explains why he decided to promote the political aspirations of the journalist.

In the circulation, which is published in full on the website of the “Yabloko”, Kovalev says, still impressed by the desire Sobchak to restore the option of voting “against all” and to unite diverse opposition, but finds the task difficult.
Human rights groups doubt that Sobchak as such, receive significant support. “Maybe because You’re thinking mainly not about the problem, and about Your role in it,” said Kovalev, adding that it believes to be the key.
Kovalev and Sobchak was found on February 13. The human rights activist has supported a secular lioness, noting her desire to act on behalf of civil society, her trip to Chechnya in support of the head of the local branch of the “Memorial” Ouba Titieva.
The human rights activist said that the conversation was meaningful, but there was a time that he didn’t like. “Suddenly, without warning, without knocking, without calling the group out of nowhere who took people with cameras and microphones,” says Kovalev. According to him, he usually throws such people, but this time failed to “prevent misunderstanding” – “because it was Your people!»
Kovalev was blamed Sobchak for the fact that she wished to change the previous stance, refused the “techniques of show business, advertising.” From his point of view, in civil cases, they do not apply.
“This work is beyond me, and not like – do not take for not know how to do best. And not feel a firm conviction,” – said human rights activist and the first Commissioner for human rights in the Russian Federation (1994-1995).
