In the construction of Crimean bridge found the artifacts of the IV Millennium BC

During the construction of the Crimean crossing through the Kerch Strait, which will connect Russian Peninsula with the mainland Russia on the territory of the global construction discovered about a million archaeological finds, of which 100 thousand are recognized as artifacts, said on Tuesday, February 13, the information centre of the project “Crimean bridge”.

“The examined settlement and burial complexes of the Maikop archaeological culture of the IV Millennium BC, first in Taman discovered and excavated buildings of the late bronze age II Millennium BC. A new stage in classical archaeology of the Peninsula has become a study in rural districts of the cities of Phanagoria and Hermonassa: country estates, cemeteries, roads, wells,” — said Professor of the Department of archaeology and ancient history at the southern Federal University Alexey Kiyashko.

The researcher also stressed that the excavations in the territory of 56 hectares were found artifacts from the Khazar Khaganate and Tmutarakan Principality.

The most valuable findings of scholars in the foundations of the East Crimean historical and cultural Museum-reserve and Taman Museum complex.
