The foreign Minister of the Netherlands Halbe Zijlstra said that he actually met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2006. For 12 long years he lied about his visit to the country of the Russian leader.
The Minister of foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, explained in an interview with the newspaper De Volkskrant that we are talking about the events of 2006, when he worked at oil company Shell, the Associated Press reports.

The current foreign Minister considered that Putin’s words are so important from the point of view of global geopolitics, decided to “include” themselves in the story. In other words, he and Putin met and made a noise the statement of “great Russia” heard from a certain person, who really was in the country President in 2006.
Zijlstra said that was lying, giving someone else’s information for their own, because I didn’t want to endanger your source. “The way I chose to protect my source was not, of course, reasonable. Now it’s absolutely clear,” — said the official.
According to the Associated Press, this week Zijlstra expected to meet with Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow. One of the main topics for discussion will be the investigation of the crash Boeing in Ukraine in 2014.
