Pence: the United States hopes for a peaceful settlement on the Korean Peninsula

Vice-President Michael Pence spoke about the possible developments on the Korean Peninsula. According to him, the United States believes in the possibility of a peaceful settlement of the situation around North Korea, but the world community should step by step to increase pressure on Pyongyang.

“But we really believe in the possibility of a peaceful outcome in the process of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, though this requires consistent and intense pressure”, – told Vice-the President in interview to TV channel NBC.

Pence believes that the introduction of additional constraints may push North Korea “towards a future without nuclear weapons”.
