The Russian foreign Ministry urged to start talks with the Taliban in Afghanistan


The Russian foreign Ministry urged to begin a dialogue with representatives of the Taliban for peace in Afghanistan. In Moscow said that the organization has become part of Afghan society.

“It is clear to us that in order to establish peace and security in Afghanistan must engage in dialogue with the Taliban as part of Afghan society,” – said RIA Novosti Deputy foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov.

The diplomat added that Moscow stands in favour of equal cooperation of international partners, taking into account national interests of all countries in the region.

“In this regard, Moscow format, and a mechanism a new Contact group “SCO-Afghanistan” as the optimal sites to conduct substantive negotiations on the issue of promoting notprimarily in this country” – summed up the representative of the foreign Ministry.

Currently, the Taliban control large areas of rural Afghanistan. However, recently they launched large-scale attacks on major cities. In addition, the country has intensified, the militants of the “Islamic state” (IG, is prohibited in Russia).

Earlier, NATO has accused Russia that she allegedly went on to collaborate with the Taliban. Here in the West, insisted that Moscow began to support the movement of weapons.
