Lukashenko has promised not to be friends with anybody against Russia

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at the negotiations with the Prime Minister of Latvia Maris Kucinskis Thursday, February 8, said that the official Minsk will not be friends with whatever government against Russia, because it believes it is a brotherly country, but also because of the close economic ties, the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“I feel that through this visit we can a lot to negotiate. And you will not be ashamed of Latvians, and our Prime Minister to Belarusians. The only thing I remember about the one that we will never be friends with any country against Russia as with other countries against Latvia,” — said the Belarusian head of state.

At the same time, Lukashenko has noticed that in relations of Minsk and Moscow, in spite of the Federal government, there is disagreement and complexity, but they affect only relations of the authorities of the two countries, but not the fraternal Belarusian and Russian peoples.

The Belarusian leader stressed that his country adheres to policies and practices do not create problems for the neighbors.

“It is not necessary that the neighbors give you a dirty look looked. We believe this and in respect of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. We have never reproached you joined the European Union. On the contrary, trying to extract from this favor, we are happy if you get. But you should clearly understand that Russia for us is not just a friendly country — there lives fraternal people” – explained Lukashenko his position.

According to him, the national economic complex of Belarus closely linked with Russia, as the Belarusian government buys a lot of raw materials in Russia for the production of goods on its territory.

Lukashenko has reminded that Russia – the main market of Belarus. In this regard, he stressed that it is absolutely inappropriate to abandon the relations with Russia. The Belarusian head of state urged the leadership of the Baltic republics to get rid of the feeling that Belarus is too dependent on Russia.

In addition, Lukashenko reminded that several years can not be resolved by armed conflict in the Donbass. “God grant that it has not received a negative development. So let’s save this region, the geographical center of Europe, peace and quiet. In this regard, you can count on Belarus,” – concluded Lukashenko.
