Russian and Japanese diplomats to discuss the organization of economic activities on the Kuril Islands


Russia and Japan have embarked on a new round of talks on normalization of bilateral relations, including the problem of a peace Treaty, according to TASS. According to the foreign Ministry of Japan, one of the topics of the talks, which will be held today in Tokyo, will be the organization of joint economic activities on southern Kuriles.

Country stick to the plan of 8 points, which was proposed by the Japanese side in 2016. The document includes such items as the strengthening of relations between the two countries in energy, industrialization of the Far East, the expansion of the export base and others. At the joint economic activities on disputable Islands of the parties are considered as the first step towards a peace agreement.
