Recall that Assange himself has filed a petition for cancellation of a warrant for his arrest to the court of London. A history of persecution and prosecution against Assange began in 2006, with the launch of the website and the publication of secret documents, incriminating, in particular, the government of the United States. The information has stirred up the whole world, the creators of the site then said that the have available a database containing over a million documents, the sources of which were not disclosed. The editor and the main inspiration of the site was made by Australian journalist Julian Assange.

Due to “leaks” of the leading agencies of the United States information published on the website, and then became the property of the world community, getting on the front pages of Newspapers.

The first publication was devoted to the war in Afghanistan, as well as the details of prisoners in Guantanamo Bay. The special resonance was caused by the so-called “Afghan war Diaries” and “the Iraqi dossier”, published in 2010. According to various media reports, the White House was “furious” from leaks of such classified information. One of the whistleblowers of the WikiLeaks website, US authorities believe the us army soldier Bradley manning, who had access to highly classified information. He was sentenced to 35 years imprisonment, with a non-parole period of 9 years. While in prison, Manny expressed the desire to have a sex change, and since the press uses the name Chelsea manning.

In 2010, Julian Assange was accused of rape by a resident of Sweden. Australian journalist denied all charges, calling them politically motivated. Since 2012 he is hiding in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London trying to avoid extradition to Sweden. According to the defendant, inevitably Stockholm will extradite him to the us authorities, but in the US he could face 35 years in prison to life sentence, including the death penalty if they are satisfied with the accusations of espionage.

In may last year, Swedish prosecutors have dropped all charges against the founder of WikiLeaks, and canceled the investigation. Despite this, UK police announced that it intends to arrest Assange once he leaves the Embassy of Ecuador because he being on bail, did not attend one of the sessions in 2012, thus violating the law. From 2012 to 2015 year the British police has spent more than £ 13 million for the maintenance of the troops who were on duty at the Embassy of Ecuador.

Recall that Assange also has acquired the citizenship of Ecuador, but British authorities do not recognize his diplomatic immunity, which would allow him to safely leave the Embassy grounds.
