Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev in the social network “Vkontakte” criticized the decision of the IOC not to invite 15 Russian athletes at the Olympics in Pyeongchang, which had previously been justified by the court of arbitration for Sports. The decision he described as “shameful, unjust, illegal, immoral and politicized.”
He noted that in this way was crushed and the Olympic Charter and the basic principles of law.
“Guilt is not proven, not guilty. And it is the court that makes the final decision. Now the decision was made by a group of people who put themselves above the court. On IOC, over athletes, over fans. The purpose of this action is very far from the sport. The goal is to cause political damage to our country,” – said the Russian Prime Minister.
