Among scientists there is no doubt that excessive alcohol consumption is fraught with very serious consequences for the human body. However, about it moderate doses of experts disagree. Recently U.S. researchers from the University of Rochester said that in very moderate amounts alcohol can be good for the brain and reduce the likelihood of developing Alzheimer’s disease.

The researchers conducted a series of experiments on laboratory mice and concluded that rodents who drank 0.5 grams of alcohol per kilogram of body weight per day, was less susceptible to processes that lead to the development of dementia than rodents in the control group. The strength of the drink used in the experiment, in a press release, researchers not specified.
Not all experts agree with the above position. For example, last year, American experts from the University of Texas, came to the conclusion that alcohol not only leads to neuronal death, but also impedes their recovery by inhibiting the activity of stem cells. Earlier, another group of researchers stated that the consumption of alcoholic beverages (including beer) okazyvaeshsya effect on the hippocampus of adolescent people who start drinking at an early age, subsequently more difficult to form any memories, but also to navigate in space, that is, negative changes can affect all areas of their lives. A number of other studies have also shown that alcohol affects a person’s memory, and experts from Germany University found that in the long run it deprives him of the ability to fully control their behavior (thus, in particular, minimizing the possibility of overcoming alcohol addiction).
Moreover, some opponents of the use of alcohol tend to believe that the study of “in defense” of its use are conducted with gross errors.
