According to the official representative of U.S. State Department’s Heather Nauert, the American administration may suspend visa sanctions if it affects the national interests of the United States. So she commented on a recent visit to the country Director of the Russian foreign intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin, included in the sanctions list.
“I will explain that if we are talking about the national interests of the United States in the security field, we have the ability to make exceptions, allowing people to enter the country”, — quotes the words Neuert RIA Novosti.
The American diplomat also noted that despite numerous disagreements with the Russian government, the United States there are areas where cooperation with Russia continues, one of them is the fight against ISIS (an organization banned in Russia).
Previously a member of the Democratic party Charles Schumer asked the White house to explain how the head of the foreign intelligence service of Russia Sergei Naryshkin, included in the “Kremlin report”, appeared in the United States.
