Spain gave the US a Russian cybercriminal Levashov

Spain gave the United States accused of hacking the Russian programmer Peter Levashov, reports RIA “Novosti” with reference to the National police of Spain.

The report said that Levashov than one year “created a cybernetic infrastructure in the form of a botnet or network of computers.”

The police said that he remotely controlled his victims, without the consent of the owners with the help of the control servers that were used mainly for illegal activities.

Earlier in mass media it was reported that Peter Levashov was arrested in April 2017 in Barcelona during a family holiday, and on October 3 the national court of Spain was allowed to extradite a programmer to the United States where he is accused of Internet fraud, harm and theft of personal data. The defence appealed the results, however, the court confirmed previously adopted verdict.

The Americans claim that he has developed a worldwide computer network which controlled hundreds of thousands of computers, rasprostranen malware and extortion, spreading phishing messages and other spam sending.

Then it became known about the arrest in absentia Levashova in the Russian Federation for hacking the website of one of the medical organizations of Saint-Petersburg.
