The Minsk city court on Friday announced the sentencing of three Belarusian authors of the Russian Agency Regnum, detained in December 2016 and since then were in jail. The court found them guilty of inciting ethnic enmity and hatred in connection with several publications.
Dmitry Alimkin, Yuri Pavlovets and Shoptenko sentenced to 5 years imprisonment with a reprieve of three years, reports the Agency RIA “Novosti”. It is assumed that the time delay they will be released from custody under recognizance not to leave. If during the preventive observation of their behavior will prove that the “fix”, from the court-appointed sentence they could be released.

Shiptjenko, Pavlovets and Alimkin in their articles were opposed to Russophobia and nationalism, opposed the attempts of Belarus to distance itself from Russia and believed that the integration of the two countries required both for Russia and for Belarus.
