Putin congratulated Zeman on his reelection as President of the Czech Republic

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday, January 27, congratulated the Czech counterpart Milos Zeman in connection with his reelection to the high office of the President, the press service of the Kremlin.

“The results of the elections confirmed the high authority of the Zeman as an experienced and responsible policy for realizing the interests and aspirations of the Czech people,” reads the text of the congratulatory telegram, the Russian leader addressed to Zeman.

The Russian President also stressed that Russia highly appreciates the principled position of Zeman in favor of development of friendly relations between Russia and the Czech Republic, a mutually beneficial partnership between Moscow and Prague in a variety of areas.

According to the official data on the results of the second round of voting, after processing of 95% of the votes Milos Zeman re-elected for a second term with 51,36% of the vote.
