Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki gave an interview at the world economic forum in Davos about the dangers of Russia in the spirit of “chief, all is lost.” He asked a question that will have to do if the Russian army will begin to March across Ukraine and will be built in Europe “Nord stream-2”, with which Moscow twist Kiev in the energy RAM’s horn.
The Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki.
Matthew Kaminski of Politico spoke with the new Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki who answered the question, what is the biggest threat to Poland. It turned out that Russia and the project “Northern stream-2”.
Started Moravicki with the fact that he’s frightened of Russia’s actions in Ukraine. He said that he discussed this risk with its partners in the EU and the USA, including at the world economic forum in Davos. To this he added the issue of “North stream-2”, which also caused him concern. According to Moravcova he discussed in Davos this question with the Minister of energy of the USA Rick Perry.
Polish Prime Minister expressed his belief that the “North stream” is not a business project. He focused on the fact that if this project is implemented, the gas pipelines in Ukraine, through which Russian gas is transported to Europe, would be unnecessary.
“And what happens in the case of the war in the Donbass? What will happen when the Russian army will March all over the Ukraine? We certainly do not know, we hope that nothing will happen. But it’s better if we will have a second and third line of defense than anything,” said Morawiecki.
Recall that U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson said that Washington supports Warsaw, opposing the construction of “Nord stream-2”, as Russia will be able “to use the energy tool as a political one.”
