Expert “MK” in the first yesterday’s comments about the consequences of the diet solution suggested: Ukraine responds “kind of statement from the press Secretary of the foreign Ministry”. Our prediction was fully confirmed at 20 o’clock on the Kiev time.

The Ministry of foreign Affairs condemned the adoption of the law banning propaganda of “Bandera nationalists”. Ukrainian diplomats reminded the MPs about the “huge suffering” of Ukrainians and poles from totalitarian regimes during the Second world war and their joint struggle for the freedom of their homeland. “In this context of extreme concern is the intention to portray the Ukrainians only as “crime nationalists” and “collaborators of the Third Reich,” – said on the website of the Ukrainian foreign Ministry.

Diplomats expressed hope that the Senate of Poland, where he will be considered approved yesterday in the Parliament the bill “will have the political wisdom regarding issues that can adversely affect the development of bilateral relations (between Poland and Ukraine – ed.)”.

Initiated the adoption of the new law deputies from the faction of Kukiz’15. The project almost a year spent in a “frozen” state. In November 2017, the deputies had included it in the agenda of the plenary sitting of the Parliament. But at the last moment the bill was withdrawn. According to unofficial information, the reason was the reluctance to further aggravate political passions on the eve of the visit of President Andrzej Duda in Ukraine.

On Friday 26 January, the deputies of the Sejm considered in the third reading the package of bills envisaging amendments to the law on the Institute of national remembrance. Among them was “antibanderovskie” bill.

Of the 414 members of the Seimas for a ban on the Bandera ideology on the territory of the Republic of Poland voted by 279 deputies. Faction Kukiz’, “law and justice” (PiS) and the Polish peasant party (PSL) supported the bill in full. Some more votes “for” said the deputies from the opposition.

In Western Ukraine, close to Poland, the news from Warsaw took nervously. Among other things, the Polish deputies accused in concealment of the facts of collaboration of their compatriots, that was one of the key reasons the so-called “Volyn massacre”.

The most irreconcilable opponents of the new law from the same Ukrainian regions described its adoption as “another step Poland to the abyss”.
