Trump called on Erdogan to limit military actions of Turkey in ‘ afrīn

The President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan held telephone talks with U.S. President Donald trump, during which they discussed the military operation of Ankara in the Syrian Affleck. This was reported by a source in the administration of the Turkish leader.

Erdogan urged trump to stop supporting the Kurdish groups in Syria, the source added.

In turn, the White house also issued a statement about the negotiations. The press release notes that trump has expressed concern over the escalation of the conflict in ‘ afrīn and called on Turkish counterpart to ensure de-escalation of tensions in Syria and avoid actions that may lead to conflict with US forces.

The President of the United States expressed readiness for closer cooperation with Turkey to help resolve the issues of security in Northern Syria near the Turkish-Syrian border.

In addition, trump Erdogan expressed concern about “destructive” rhetoric that is heard from Ankara and detention in Turkey of citizens of the United States.

It is also reported that both sides agreed to fight ISIS (banned in Russia), Kurdistan workers ‘ party, “al-Qaeda” (banned in Russia) and “terrorism sponsored by Iran.”
