Tolstoy urged to stop focus on Europe: no future

Vice-speaker of the state Duma Pyotr Tolstoy at a meeting with deputies of the European Parliament was convinced that Russia has a different path and other values. This member said at the parliamentary hearings in the state Duma, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the law “On freedom of conscience and on religious associations”.

Tolstoy noted that Russia is 25 years copying what was happening in Europe – “in varying degrees, successfully”, but now the country has time to find their own way.

“If we continue to repeat the moves that are already passed to us by our colleagues from Western Europe of the future, Russia will not” – said the politician.
