The scandal in Davos, Poroshenko told Russian journalist to undress

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on the sidelines of the world economic forum in Davos had a fight with a Russian journalist who decided to set up a policy the awkward question. He advised her to remove the shirt, which is a traditional Ukrainian clothing.


As the portal TSN, the incident occurred on January 24. The journalist wearing an embroidered shirt and a microphone “unmarked” appealed to the Ukrainian President with a question about why he adopted the “law of war” (probably talking about the law of “de-occupation of the Donbas” – ed.)

Poroshenko has promised to answer the question only if it sounds in the Ukrainian language, and advised the girl to “remove shirt”. On the remark of the representative of the media that he understands Russian, the politician replied that to answer questions would be just for home move.

“I understand English, and the other. But answer the questions in Ukrainian,” said Poroshenko. After that the girl gave security. Now the journalist can be deprived accreditation.

TSN calls the incident “a provocation of the Russian traditional media” who are always informed about where to meet Ukrainian delegation.

The controversial law on the reintegration of Donbass was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on 18 January. According to the document, the territory of the breakaway Lugansk and Donetsk people’s republics are occupied and Russia was formally recognized as a “country-aggressor”.
