Entered against Moscow limitation is an attempt to put pressure on Russian society, Kostin said at the world economic forum in Davos, Switzerland.

“I think they (Western countries — approx.) want to use sanctions to exert pressure on Russia, so Russia changed the government, the President, someone more suitable for them”, — the financier said during a business Breakfast, reports RIA Novosti.

The head of VTB said that what is happening goes beyond trade wars. In his opinion, the West is preparing a full-scale attack on Russia. “This is a very big economic war. I say seriously, and we take it very seriously,” — said Kostin.

The day before, 23 January, the head of VTB warned in Davos on “the growing threat of military conflict” in Europe. According to him, the buildup of military forces can result in an “incident” between NATO forces and Russia.

While Kostin said the new economic sanctions by U.S. will be a “Declaration of war”. “I see no reasons why then the Russian Ambassador should stay in Washington or the American Ambassador will have to bathe in cold water in Moscow”, — said the banker.

In addition, Kostin said that the American introduction of personal sanctions against Russian businessmen on the principle of friendship and closeness to President Vladimir Putin is crazy.
