That Vietnam – socialist Republic, reminiscent of red flags on the streets, in the center which depicts the hammer and sickle. This is the flag of the Communist party of Vietnam. One of the official highlights of the visit Shoigu was laying a wreath at the monument to the Fallen heroes, which is located near the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum. Next to him is the military Museum, where on an outdoor display equipment during the Vietnam-American war. Here are the Soviet T-34, T-55, MiG-17 and MiG-21, and American technology. But the most surprising was to see the monument to Lenin on the pedestal is an inscription in Vietnamese style – Le-Nin. In General, however, Hanoi is also noisy and flashy like any other South Asian city.
Sergei Shoigu at a meeting with his Vietnamese colleague NGO Xuan Litem shared the experience of the use of Russian equipment and weapons in Syria. First and foremost is combat, equipment and weapons of the land forces, special operations forces. Separately, the Minister stressed the efficiency of Russian air defense systems.
– It is not only such complexes as “Carapace”, which was used in Syria, but also about antiaircraft rocket systems s-300 and s-400, said Shoigu. Today, two complex and are deployed around the clock in this country, providing a reliable air defense of our bases in Hamima and Tartus. These are unique systems with unmatched performance nothing.
The Minister stressed that the obvious confirmation of this fact is contact, recently signed with Turkey, a member country of NATO, for the supply of s-400. By the way, Turkey became the second country to NATO, which will have long-range AAMS Russian production. Until recently, Greece was the only country of the Alliance, which has been successfully developing military-technical cooperation with Russia – in particular, the arms of the Greek army has s-300PMU1. Interest in acquiring these systems have already expressed their other mills. In particular the middle East and South-East Asia and now exploring the supply is substantive work.
Vietnam is our long-standing, tried and tested partner with whom we have a trusting relationship based on friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation, – said Shoigu. — Ready to accept your expert advice with our experts and share their expertise with test equipment in real combat conditions.
As told “MK” a military expert, Deputy Director of the Center for analysis of strategies and technologies , Konstantin Makiyenko, relations with Vietnam in the field of military-technical cooperation are strategic in nature. Vietnam is the second after India, the country with which the PTS is based on ten-year plans, and the Russian Industrialists say that Vietnam is one of the most comfortable of our partners in the sphere of military-technical cooperation. In the last five to seven years, Vietnam has always ranked among the five largest buyers of Russian arms.
Makiyenko said that Vietnam’s cooperation on the whole range of weapons and equipment. In particular, in the field of aviation delivered 36 su-30MK2. In the segment of air defense is the supply of two battalions of s-300PMU2. Especially large-scale cooperation in the naval field. Hanoi delivered 6 submarines of project 06361 Kilo-class and three 1161Э frigate project “Gepard 3.9”. Currently underway is a contract for the supply of 64 T-90S tanks, and here to be delivered to another, the fourth, the frigate “Gepard 3.9”.
Makiyenko said that Vietnam is undoubtedly focused on Russia in the field of arms supply, but competitors in this field we still have. In particular, he is actively cooperating with Israel in the segments where Israelis are traditionally strong – modernization, electronic equipment, security systems.
In principle, Russia and Israel are divided into different segments, but there are sectors in which we compete, – said the expert. For example, in the segment of anti-tank weapons or air defense. In the long term in this market you can wait for a South Korean arms manufacturers and even the military-industrial companies in the US.
