The abuse of sugar leads to the fact that in the limb — and probably in the internal organs — receives less blood. To such conclusion scientists from University of Copenhagen.
Scientists invited to participate in a study of 12 men, before the experiment is fed in a generally balanced and did not have any problems with digestion or circulation. For two weeks they daily ate 225 grams of sugar is approximately equal to 30 teaspoons of heaped. At first glance it may seem that it’s a lot more sugar than you can eat in one day “accidentally”, but fans of the jam sweet tea marshmallows and snacking on chocolate bars with sweetened soda may unconsciously to reach this level.
At the beginning and at the end of the study, the researchers measured how quickly the blood circulates to the feet of the participants. As it turned out, two weeks this figure dropped to 17 percent. The specialists tend to assume that because of the excess sugar less blood begin to receive not only the limbs but also internal organs, including the brain.
Soon after the experiment we returned to a normal diet volunteers the circulation fully back to normal, however, experts emphasize that we are talking about young and healthy people, and in the case of older people the consequences could be more long term.
The researchers note that not encourage people to completely abandon sugar, but advise them not to abuse it. Otherwise, circulation may slow down so much that it will look typical rather for the 65-year-old person than a young person, experts say.
