Commented on the plans of the Moldovan authorities to demand from Russia billions of dollars for the “occupation” of Transnistria, first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Vladimir Jabbarov.

“If there were not Russian peacekeepers in the region would be a massacre,” he recalled the confrontation between citizens of different nationalities in the former Moldavian SSR Jabbarov.
As RT reports, the Russian Senator considers the statement on monetary claims part of the policy aimed at the deterioration of relations with Russia and, ultimately, the accession of Moldova to NATO. According to dzhabarov, the possible withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers would not mean that Transnistria surrender to the mercy of Chisinau.
