Ex-foreign Minister of Ukraine explained why Kiev gave up Crimea

Ukraine’s Ambassador to Poland, former Ukrainian foreign Minister Andriy Deshchytsia told why Kiev not to use force to disrupt the referendum on the status of Crimea in March 2014.

“The imposition of martial law would have consequences about which we were warned our international partners, and I also argued members of the Council of national security and defense of Ukraine”, – quotes the diplomat “Strenia”.

Besides, according to him, Kiev is necessary to hold presidential elections and form a Parliament, and it would be impossible in conditions of martial law.
