The Chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, General Joseph Dunford expressed concern about the pace of modernization of the Russian Armed forces. According to him, Russia is currently the main threat to the European continent.
Dunford during a NATO conference in Brussels said that Russia had modernized its army, including tactical weapons and Navy, as well as developing the tools needed to conduct cyber and electronic warfare. This was reported on the website of the Pentagon.
This state of Affairs is causing concern to Washington. “None of us feels comfortable in the position in which we are now,” said Dunford.
In September, in a speech before Congress Dunford called Russia the main threat to the United States. He also said that Washington will not allow military superiority of Moscow over alleged violation of the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate-range and shorter-range nuclear forces (INF).
