Ukrainian shipbuilders have accused Kiev of unwillingness to sell the cruiser “Ukraine”

Chairman of trade Union Committee of the Nikolaev state shipbuilding plant Nikolay Golovchenko said on local TV that despite the decree of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on the demilitarization of the unfinished rocket cruiser “Ukraine”, the authorities are in no hurry to sell it. However, the sales of the cruiser after removal from arms, could help to repay debts to workers.

“The debt owed to dismissed employees is 65 million. November 2014 debt before those workers who remained, amount to more than 50 million. Some people have 200 thousand UAH”, – said Golovchenko.

Recall that started in 1984 the construction of the cruiser “Ukraine” was frozen in 1996 due to lack of funding.
