Ukraine has lost temporary membership in the UN security Council

Today a non-permanent member of the Security Council of the United Nations, the States of Eastern Europe was Poland. She was replaced in this incarnation of Ukraine.

Poland’s membership in the UN security Council will last 2 years.

As recalled by Polish radio, the country-the successor of Ukraine will participate in discussions and decision making regarding “global issues world security.” However, the influence of the UN in most of these issues will steadily every year limited.

In addition to Poland (which today acquired the status of the 6th during the UN membership), non-permanent members of the UN security Council from January 1, 2018 are also the Republic of côte d’ivoire, Kuwait and Peru.

Previous duties as a non-permanent member of the Security Council were assigned to Poland in 1996-1997.
