American experts from Yale University, announced the creation of ultra-efficient drug that prevents integration of HIV DNA in cells, the “ideal” suppressing their proliferation. Reportedly, the new tool has already been successfully tested on laboratory mice.
Specialists say their drug called “substance-1”, enters the body with the help of nanoparticles and is struggling even with those strains, which to date, to fight harder than with a “standard”.
In laboratory mice, one “dose” of developed substances protected the healthy mice from infection during the month and kept the concentration of viral particles from infected rodents at the minimum level for three weeks. However, no adverse effects were observed, which, according to scientists, allows to proceed to the next stage of testing.
The study was published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
