The Kremlin has promised to protect the rights of Senator Kerimov

Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov said that in the case of Senator Suleiman Kerimov, who was detained in France on suspicion of money laundering and tax evasion and was released on bail, lawyers involved in the settlement of this dispute.

“But in any case, if the law of Suleiman Kerimov in some way are violated, then, of course, the Russian side as for its citizen and as a Senator will, of course, so to speak, to do everything possible to ensure these rights, in case of violation of these rights”, – said Peskov.

He added that the Kremlin “of course monitoring the situation” and asked to wait until the legal settlement of the dispute before making conclusions.

He also could not answer the question, whether the Russian Prosecutor’s office to verify Kerimov. if confirmed suspicions of the French police.
