Mikhail Kasyanov called the sentence Ulyukayev “exemplary punishment”

The former Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, the Chairman of the party PARNAS Mikhail Kasyanov commented on the sentence to 8 years in prison former Minister of economic development Alexei Ulyukayev.

“The trial was held with a huge procedural violations. And in such an atmosphere — such a harsh sentence. Of course, I see this as a punishment — exponential violence”, – said Kasyanov.

He added that this defiantly hard sentence “absolutely not based on any real facts.”

Kasyanov warned that the elections will be more condemning of the case, including among law enforcement officials. The former Prime Minister believes that this is done in order to demonstrate to citizens that all – whether an investigator or a liberal Minister – equally.
