In WADA responded to Putin’s statement about pressure on the organization

The world anti-doping Agency (WADA) has commented on the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin made during his press conference yesterday. The head of state said that the organization is experiencing tremendous pressure, and that was the result of the suspension of the Russian team from the Olympics.

“WADA is transparent and neutral; decisions are made by the Board of founders, which 50 percent consists of representatives from sports and 50% from state representatives, and holds public meetings twice per year”, – quotes the statement of the organization “R-Sport”.

On Thursday, Putin said that Russia respects the international sports and anti-doping organizations, understanding how much pressure they are under.

According to him, the removal of the Russian national team from the Olympics in Pyeongchang is an attempt to influence the upcoming presidential elections in Russia.
