The President of the United States Donald trump approved a Memorandum about changing the goals of the national space program. The signing ceremony was attended by astronomy, including last walked on the moon, Harrison Schmitt. In their presence, trump announced the resumption of the lunar program.

In the former document it was stated that by 2025, the United States should send a manned spacecraft beyond the moon, including to an asteroid .
By the mid-2030’s Washington was planning to send astronauts to Mars orbit, and then return them to Earth.
When the trump of the Directive has removed a specific date. Now the document says that the United States should be the leader in manned missions in the Solar system, start with the return of astronauts to the moon, and then to proceed to Mars and other destinations.
