The Federation Council found a way to respond to the disqualification of the Russian team at the Olympics in 2018: it sanctions may be imposed against members of the world anti-doping Agency (WADA). Of the measure said the head of the temporary Commission of the Federation Council on defense of national sovereignty, Senator Andrey Klimov.

As he said, “Izvestia”, “the people who pushed for this decision, are irrelevant to the sport. We need to bring them to the light of God and to demonstrate that this decision is not about sport”.
Particularly the Senator noted that WADA comprises representatives of countries-members of NATO: “More than half of the management team WADA — representatives of countries-members of the military and political Alliance, NATO, aimed against Russia.”
Klimov added that, although he claims that everyone in the country, NATO is an agent of the Alliance, “in practice it turns out that way”. It was from NATO, said the Senator, suffering Russian diplomats and the media: thus, the Alliance “seeks to reject it (Russia – ed.) ago”.
Meeting of the Federation Council, where it can be taken up proposals on sanctions against members of WADA, will be held December 12. The Klimov did not explain why at the last meeting of the IOC the head of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov apologized for the mistakes made in Russia doping violations, thereby recognizing the truth of the claims.
Senator Klimov, as the Commission headed by him, is known for a number of odious initiatives: for example, they propose to close the majority of foreign observers access to Russian elections, to Supplement the criminal code article for anti-Russian propaganda, first came up with the idea media is registered as a foreign agent, etc.
