In Norway apologized to Turkey for the portraits of Ataturk on the teachings

The Norwegian Ministry of defense posted on its website an official statement of the head of Department Frank Bakke-Jensen in which he expressed regret for insulting Turkey incident during command and staff exercises of NATO in Stavanger.

“The message that caused the reaction of the Turkish side, appeared in a closed network to the participants in the actions of individuals, and the incident does not reflect the position of Norway,” – said in a statement.

Bakke-Jensen also stressed that Turkey remains “an important member of NATO, with whom we want to maintain good relations”.

The Minister added that the incident is under investigation at the time of conduct which was dismissed guilty in the incident, a civilian specialist.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that during war games Trident javelin 2017 in Norway, a portrait of the founder of the Republic Mustafa Kemal atatürk and the name of Erdogan were used to indicate the imaginary enemy.
