Veterans organization is outraged by the desecration of the monument “Alyosha” in Bulgarian

In the Coordinating Council of International Union “Commonwealth of public organizations of veterans (pensioners) of independent States” was considered an act of blatant vandalism and xenophobia desecration in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv the monument to the Soviet warrior-to the deliverer “Alesha”.

According to the observations of the Chairman of the Board Alexey Sorokin, such manifestations of aggression against the memory of millions of fighters against Nazism in recent times, they “are gaining in Europe already frightening momentum.”

As previously reported, the Russian Embassy in Bulgaria has demanded from the authorities to investigate the incident and punish the perpetrators, who caused the monument with swastikas and anti-Semitic slogans.

“In the modern world is no place for such barbaric acts and nationalistic slogans,” – said Sorokin, urging governments not to turn a blind eye to such attempts to destroy the memory of the common victory over fascism.
