Saakashvili was finally denied refugee status in Ukraine

The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko said the refusal of the State migration service in providing the ex-Governor of Odessa region the leader of the party “movement new forces,” Mikheil Saakashvili in obtaining refugee status.

“We have news. If I had said that Saakashvili has a status that makes it impossible for him to deportation or extradition … now the State migration service refused to grant him refugee status”, – Lutsenko told.

According to him, Saakashvili appealed to the court challenging this decision. In this regard, the public Prosecutor emphasized, “absent any special circumstances” that would make it impossible to deportation or extradition.
