The chief of the National Police of Ukraine Sergey Knyazev said that the question of the legality of the tents in the government quarter is in the competence of the Kiev administration. Law enforcement officers will continue to monitor the situation and enforce the law as long as the protesters don’t disperse. Previously, the same guarantee was given by the public Prosecutor of the country Yury Lutsenko, having noted that the right to peaceful protest is one of the main achievements of the Maidan.
The demolition of the tents set protesters a day earlier, in the center of the Ukrainian capital, will not. Ukrainian authorities have given security guarantees to all participants of the protest.
