Iran and Turkey do not recognize the legitimacy of the referendum on the independence of Iraqi Kurdistan


Tehran and Ankara have shown unity in the assessment of the referendum on the independence of Iraqi Kurdistan. Turkish and Iranian authorities don’t consider the vote legitimate. This statement was made head of the General staff of Iran Mohammad Hossein, Bakery after a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar.

“We discussed common threats the two countries and a referendum in Iraqi Kurdistan, with a focus on support for the integrity of Iraq and for recognition of the referendum invalid”, – quoted the head of Iran’s General staff of the Agency “Tasneem”.
