The Minister of transport Maxim Sokolov announced the disciplinary action in the form of incomplete official conformity. The corresponding decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, published on the official portal of legal information.
The reason for the penalties the Minister of transport has become a crisis situation of the airline “VIM-Avia”, which became hostages of tens of thousands of passengers. The carrier stopped Charter flights due to financial problems and shortage of working capital.
At a meeting with members of the government on 27 September, the Russian President is said to Sokolov that declares incomplete official correspondence in connection with the situation around the “VIM-Avia”. Putin quoted the Minister as saying that “VIM-Avia” “meets all criteria”. “If you have developed such criteria, what they are?” asked GDP.

Amid reports about the collapse of “VIM-Avia” investigators arrested the CEO of the carrier Alexander Kochnev and chief accountant Ekaterina Panteleev. They are accused of embezzlement of funds of passengers. The owners of “VIM-Avia” Rashid and Svetlana Mursekaev fled from prosecution abroad.
