“We found that participants really appreciated the unfaithful partners are more prone to infidelity,” reads the statement of the experts.

During the experiment, participants were allowed to listen to recordings of different voices ten men and ten women. Recordings were made of heterosexual people of the Caucasian race, unmarried. Half cheated on their partners, the other half not. The volunteers had to assign a rating from 0 to 10 the owner of each voice according to its purported penchant for treachery.

The experts came to the conclusion that the participants drew attention to the intonation and the absence of pauses in speech. These traits are seen as a sign of infidelity. Moreover, people mistrust low voices — both male and female. While the men were wrong in their assessments during the study more often than women.
