The foreign Ministry of Saudi Arabia announced on their official Twitter that king Salman bin Abdul Aziz al Saud signed a decree that will allow women of the Kingdom to get behind the wheel of a car.

“Decree of the king: a traffic control allows a woman to drive in the Kingdom,” – said in the message.

In addition, the king has ordered to convene a Committee of representatives of the Ministry of internal Affairs, ministries of Finance, labour and social development to explore the necessary measures to give women the right to drive cars.

Previously, the Kingdom was removed from the religious activities of the Imam who claimed that women can’t drive cars because of limited mental capacity.
