The state Department called the threat a Declaration of Turkey’s referendum in Iraqi Kurdistan

The U.S. state Department spokesman Heather Nauert, commenting on the statement by the Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu on the referendum on the independence of Iraqi Kurdistan, called his remarks threatening.

The statement of Turkey’s readiness in word and deed to support the territorial integrity of Iraq sounds like a threat. But we in the state Department will not comment on that,” she said.
