Deputy Chairman of the Majlis in the Crimea, sentenced to 2 years in prison

A court in Simferopol has sentenced to 2 years in a penal colony Deputy Chairman of the banned in Russia Majlis krymskotatarskogo people Ilmi Umerov, said lawyer mark Feigin.

The basis for the criminal case against Umerov was his statement in March 2016 when, as in Ukraine, the TV channel ATR, he allegedly stated that it was necessary to force Russia to withdraw from Crimea and Donbass.

After the verdict, the lawyers declared intention to appeal against it.
